Dengue

Dengue is a viral infection transmitted to humans through the bites of infected Aedes mosquitoes, primarily Aedes aegypti. It is prevalent in tropical and subtropical regions around the world, particularly in urban and semi-urban areas. Dengue can cause a range of illnesses, from mild fever to severe disease. Dengue is caused by the dengue virus (DENV), which has four distinct serotypes (DENV-1, DENV-2, DENV-3, and DENV-4). The virus is transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected female Aedes mosquito. The mosquito becomes infected when it bites a person already infected with the dengue virus.
